eir Statement on the ISDS submission for the NBP

eir confirms it has responded to the Department of Communications Climate Change and Environment’s invitation to submit a detailed submission (ISDS) as the next milestone in the on-going National Broadband Plan tender process.

Our submission was made earlier today ahead of the 12pm deadline. The level of detail provided in our response reflects the unrivalled knowledge, expertise and skills within the organisation, and includes more than 3,000 pages of information and maps contained in 35 memory sticks and 52 lever arch files.

eir’s engagement throughout this tender process demonstrates the company’s continued support for the Department’s stated policy objective to provide high speed broadband to every home and business throughout Ireland.

Meanwhile, the company continues to focus on the delivery of high speed broadband to rural Ireland. We remain on target to reach our next milestone of passing 100,000 premises by the end of September as part of the delivery of the commitment contract signed with the Government earlier this year. This will provide an additional 300,000 homes and businesses with a best in class broadband solution before the end of December next year.
