(Issued 30 September, 2016) eir has announced a number of changes to the company’s organisational structure to ensure an optimal structure to serve our customers and compete effectively.
New Consumer and Small Business division
The Small Business segment will be integrated into the Consumer division to create a consolidated Consumer and Small Business division. This will be led by Jon Florsheim, who has been appointed as Chief Commercial Officer.
Jon takes on full commercial and operational responsibility for the Small Business segment while maintaining full accountability for the Consumer division, which he led as Managing Director. Since joining in 2014, Jon has overseen the launch of the eir brand, the acquisition of Setanta Sports and the recent launch of eir Sport.
This new structure allows the company to intensify its focus on the Enterprise and Government segments, which will continue to be led by Bill Archer, Managing Director, eir Business. Over the past two and a half years, Bill has repositioned the business portfolio and established a strategy for continued growth.
Unified open eir division
Separately, the Board has taken the decision to strengthen the alignment between the Networks and Wholesale divisions through the formation of a single unified open eir division, led by Carolan Lennon who has been appointed to the newly created role of Managing Director open eir.
Carolan was appointed Managing Director of Wholesale in June 2014, and has been instrumental in developing the division with strong revenue performance, and improved customer service. She has led the rollout of Ireland’s largest high-speed broadband network.
New Marketing Director appointed
Separately, eir today announced the appointment of Henry Dummer as the Group Marketing Director, Consumer and Business. Henry will head up a new centralised marketing function that covers the consumer, small business and large business segments, when he takes up the role at the end of November.
Henry joins eir from Tesco Ireland, where he has been Marketing Director, Ireland since 2011 and Chairman of Tesco Mobile. Henry brings deep consumer marketing experience from blue chip companies such as Diageo, Mars and GlaxoSmithKline, where he successfully managed marketing agendas through periods of growth and change.
Commenting on the appointments and changes, Richard Moat, CEO eir, said, “The decision to realign the Small Business segment with our Consumer segment allows us to put greater focus on our customers, improve our customer service, simplify our structures and consolidate two segments with clear synergies. We are bringing together our Wholesale and Network divisions and remain focused on delivering high-speed broadband and data services across rural Ireland. As demand for these new services continues to grow, the transition from legacy networks towards our next generation networks will accelerate.
"Henry brings a wealth of marketing experience in the retail sector both here in Ireland and internationally, and we are delighted he is joining us."
