Who will eir discuss an eir account with?

eir will only discuss an eir account with the account holder or an authorised user. An authorised user must be added to the account by the account holder. The authorised user on an account will have certain access to the account as defined by eir when a user is added to the account. An account holder is responsible for removal of authorised users. Please note in order to add you as an authorised user eir will require the authorised users full name, D.O.B and a password in order to ensure that the authorised user is the individual speaking with eir.

What is a data controller?

A data controller is the individual or legal entity who controls and is responsible for storing your personal information on a computer or in structured manual files. For example, eir is the data controller for the personal data of its customers and employees.

What is personal data?

Personal data is data relating to a person who is, or can be, identified either from the data, or from the data in conjunction with other information that is in the possession of the data controller, or is likely to come into their possession. Examples of personal data include your name, email address or staff number.

What is sensitive personal data?

Sensitive personal data could indicate your racial or ethnic origin, your physical or mental health, your political views or your religious or philosophical beliefs.

What is anonymised data?

 

Anonymised data has been processed with the aim of irreversibly preventing the identification of an individual. Not only is it impossible to identify an individual through anonymised data, it is also impossible for anyone to identify an individual by processing the data further or by combining it with any other information.

Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer when you visit our websites.

What is an IP address?

This is a unique string of numbers separated by full stops that identifies each computer using the Internet Protocol to communicate over a network.

What is traffic data?

Traffic data is data that's been processed in order to transmit communication on an electronic communications network, or for the billing of that communication. It includes data relating to the routing, duration or time of a communication.
