Update to the eir sport pack


At eir we are the only provider that offers free sport to all broadband customers as part of our broadband offering. eir is committed to bringing Irish Sports fans the best sports content as part of the eir sports pack. This autumn, as an eir customer, you will be able to enjoy all 48 games of the Rugby World Cup. That means eir sport is the only place to watch all group games including every game from Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, France, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa! And that’s not all, there is so much more sport to enjoy FOR FREE on eir Sport 1 and 2 including: 

  • All 152 games from the Guinness Rugby Pro 14, with every Munster and Leinster game live. 

  • Live GAA Football and Hurling action from the GAA  Allianz Leagues with more matches this year!

  • Extensive coverage of the SSE Airtricity League. This July, enjoy 6 games live & exclusive including Shamrock Rovers v Dundalk, Bohs vs Derry, Sligo v Waterford, Waterford v Finn Harps and Cork vs Shamrock Rovers. 

  • Live Champions League and Europa League Qualifiers this summer.

  • All the Irish UEFA U21 European Championship home qualifiers, with the next game for Stephen Kenny’s team coming in September featuring Ireland v Armenia followed by the key  clash of Ireland v Italy in October.

  • All 4 days from the Masters in Augusta live – featuring the World’s best golfers at the World’s best major.

  • Over 100 hours of live Tennis coverage from Wimbledon & Roland Garros and so much more...

  • And from 1st August 2019, the FreeSports channel will be included as part of the eir sport pack featuring Leinster Schools Rugby and International sports tournaments.    

From 1st August 2019, the BT Sport Channels will no longer be available as part of the eir sport pack and will only be available as an add on from your TV provider. eir Sport 1 and 2, along with the newly added FreeSports channel will continue to be offered free of charge to all eir broadband, TV and select mobile bill pay customers as per the terms and conditions of your contract.

For eir Vision customers we will update you in due course about the ability to purchase a BT Sports add-on from 1st August 2019.

Those eir broadband customers without eir Vision TV will need to check  with their TV provider in August to understand how they can access the BT channels.

There is no change to your other eir services or your eir terms and conditions. Your eir contract is not affected.

What’s happening to the eir Sport pack and when will it affect me?

Why is this happening / Why are the BT Sports channels no longer part of the eir sport pack?

  • Due to reasons beyond eir's control, from 1st August 2019, the BT Sport channels will no longer be available as part of the eir sport pack.
  • For eir Vision customers we will update you in due course about the ability to purchase a BT Sports add-on from 1st August 2019.
  • eir broadband customers without eir Vision TV will need to check  with their TV provider  to understand how they can continue to  access the BT Sport Channels beyond the 1  August 2019.
  • eir remains the ONLY provider to offer free eir Sport 1 and 2 to its entire broadband base.

Is eir sport still free for broadband and select mobile customers?

Yes, you can still watch the amazing live content that eir sport has to offer for free with eir broadband and select mobile plans.

Is eir sport 1 and 2 still available to eir broadband customers via Sky TV?

Yes, you won’t miss out on the action on eir sport 1 and 2 as it is available for free to all eir broadband subscribers and can be accessed via your Sky TV box. Broadband customers can activate eir sport on their Sky TV box click here

Are the eir sport apps and the desktop player still available?

Yes eir Sport 1 and 2 are still available via eir vision at home and via the eir Vision go app. Broadband and eligible mobile customers can still avail of eir sport via the eir sport and eir sport just mobile iOS / Android and web apps. In addition eir sport 1 & 2 will remain accessible for those eir broadband customers who are Sky TV customers.

Will eir sport be adding further content to its existing line up?
