'No Signal' Message

Getting a No Signal message when you turn on your TV?

This means your TV is not receiving any video or sound information. Try these steps to get your TV up and running again...

First make sure your Apple TV is on. The status light at the front should be lit up.

Is your TV on the correct input source?

  • Your Apple TV should be set to either HDMI1 or HDMI2. Check that the HDMI cable works on another device, like a DVD player or a games console
  • If the HDMI cable is faulty, try another HDMI cable before you continue troubleshooting
  • Try a different HDMI port in the TV

Ensure there's no disconnected cables

Make sure all cables are inserted properly to ensure there are no hardware failures.

Restart your Apple TV

Hold down the Menu and Home buttons on the Apple TV remote control until the light on the front of the Apple TV box starts to flash. Your Apple TV will then restart.

Disconnect the Apple TV from the power source. Wait six seconds, then plug it back in and wait for it to boot up.

eir TV Connectivity Issues

The eir TV service requires a strong connection to function properly.

If you are experiencing connectivity issues, there's a good chance you can fix it yourself.

  1. Restart your Apple TV
  2. Troubleshoot your WiFi connection
  3. Connection through Homeplugs
    • Homeplugs are devices that allow for data transmission over power lines.
    • The quality of the connection is dependent on how well these Homeplugs are functioning
  4. Connection through Ethernet Cable
    • Check that the Ethernet cable from the Apple TV is connected to an Ethernet or LAN port on your modem
    • Disconnect and reconnect both ends of the Ethernet cable connecting the modem to the Apple TV
    • Try a different Ethernet or LAN on the modem. If you have one, try a different Ethernet cable
    • You can perform a LoopBack test:
      1. If your modem has status indicator lights on the Ethernet/LAN ports, you can test the cable
      2. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into Ethernet 1 and the other end into one of the other Ethernet ports
      3. If the status indicator lights come on, the cable is working properly. If the light does not come on, the cable is faulty and needs to be replaced
    • If the cable is working properly, test another device in the modem's Ethernet/LAN port
