Your first mobile bill explained
When is my first payment due?
The date your first payment is due is available on page one of your bill.
If you have set up Direct Debit, your bank will request payment no earlier than 14 days from this date.
This date is linked to your billing date.
Why is my bill higher than I expected?
Your first bill will be slightly higher than other bills as you are paying for more than one month of usage. This is because your first bill covers the period from when your service starts up until your first bill, as well as your price plan for the month ahead. This is called a pro rata billing.
You will only ever see it:
- On a first bill
- If you change your billing period
- If you add/change an Add-On
Pro Rata billing is calculated by dividing the full cost of your price plan/Add-On by the number of days in the month, and then multiplying this amount by the number of days in between your connection date and your assigned bill date.
Your calls, texts or data allowances
If you don't use all your calls, texts or data allowances they are not carried over to the next month.
Your full monthly allocation of minutes, text and/or data kicks in at midnight of your bill day.
If your allowance expires, standard rates associated with your plan apply. View our rates here.
