How and where can I find the terms and conditions of my contract?

The terms and conditions of service are provided at https://www.eir.ie/termsandconditions/.  This link is available to customers signing up online or advised to customers over the phone.  In addition the link is provided in welcome correspondence. In store the main terms and conditions are advised along with advice on the location of full terms and conditions online.

Do I own the phone that I entered into the prepay contract for?

Yes.  However, mobile phones supplied by eir are restriction for use on the eir network only.  A phone can be unlocked subject to certain conditions.  Please see details under the FAQ "How can I unlock my prepay phone so that I can use it on another network?" below.

Are there restrictions on my use of my phone on other networks?

Yes.  Mobile phones supplied by eir are restriction for use on the eir network only.  However they can be unlocked subject to certain conditions.  Please see details under the FAQ "How can I unlock my prepay phone so that I can use it on another network?" below.

How can I unlock my prepay phone so that I can use it on another network?

You will need to request an ‘unlocking code’ from us. This code removes a restriction from your phone and allows you to use a SIM from any network. To get an unlocking code, you’ll have to meet the criteria below:

You purchased the phone from eir in excess of 14 days prior to your unlocking request. 

You have topped up by a minimum of €120 of call credit since the phone has been activated

If you meet the above eligibility rules contact us with your ‘IMEI’ code. This fifteen digit code can be retrieved by dialling *#06# into your phone.

Note –Sometimes the unlocking code may not be stored on our systems and we may have to contact your phone manufacturer on your behalf.  It can take up to ten working days for us to receive the code from the manufacturer.

Once we receive the code we will email it to you, so please ensure to provide us with the correct email address.  You can update your email address by logging into myeir.

Is there a charge for unlocking my phone?

There is no charge for unlocking you phone however you must meet certain spend criteria as outlined in the response to the FAQ "How can I unlock my prepay phone so that I can use it on another network?" above.

Where can I find information on the process and charges for unlocking my phone?

Who do I contact to unlock my phone?

You need to contact eir to unlock you phone.  Please refer to the response to the FAQ "How can I unlock my prepay phone so that I can use it on another network?" above.

How long will it take to unlock my phone?
