eir 5G roaming continues to expand - now available in the UK and 33 other countries

eir, Ireland’s leading telecommunications provider, has announced that 5G roaming is now available for customers travelling within the UK. eir’s 5G roaming network continues to expand across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In addition to 5G roaming availability in the UK, eir customers travelling to Portugal, France, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, The Netherlands and Thailand will now be able to enjoy high-speed 5G connectivity as they roam.

eir’s 5G network now extends across 1,250 sites in 450 towns and cities in Ireland. eir has built and continues to expand Ireland’s largest and best availability 5G network. In November last year, eir announced 5G availability across all mobile plans, ensuring customers could experience this next generation technology with unrivalled connectivity speeds. 

Independent testing by Ookla, the global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence, has measured the performance of eir’s mobile network across Ireland and has certified it as Ireland’s Best Availability 4G and 5G network, meaning eir customers can be reassured that wherever they travel across the country they will remain connected.

5G is available across all of eir’s in-market plans, including SIM Only plans from €9.99 per month and Prepay plans from only €20 per month, which include No Limits 5G Data plus Unlimited Calls and Texts. eir also offers a wide range of the latest 5G handsets on plan from €29.99 including the iPhone 1, the Samsung Galaxy S22and the new OPPO Find X5.
